Althea: How To Track Your Parcel

HTML email (plussizesblog.blogspot.com)
anxious to get your Althea parcel?

Today I am going to share about how you can track your parcel after shopping on Althea Korea after receiving reader's inquiries via Facebook. The top 3 questions I get are:

1. When can I get my parcel?
Althea says it takes 10 - 15 working days for shipping and delivery to take place. This means public holidays and weekends are not included. Your late night shopping does not count as day 1, it will be processed the next day.

2. How does it work from Korea to Malaysia?
Althea ships your package from Korea to Malaysia and it will be handled by a local courier company, currently managed by Ta-Q-Bin (some areas are handled by Skynet).

3. How do I track my parcel?
Althea has upgraded their e-tracking system to include your local delivery tracking number which can be found under "REMARKS" section. I made a simple guide for you to follow. Please refer below.

How To Track Your Althea Shipping / Order:
1. Login to your Althea account on www.althea.kr
2. Under your account, find "My Orders"
3. Click "View Order" on the order you want to track
4. You will be directed to your order page. You can see:
  • your order number e.g ORDER #100001191
  • your invoices and shipment
  • your billing & shipping addresses
  • your order list (products purchased)
5. Click "Shipment"
6. Scroll below, find your Shipment Order e.g Shipment #100001191
7. You will see your shipment tracking number below, copy it e.g EC1005434401
8. Click the shipment number
9. Your E-Cargo Tracking System window pops out
10. Paste your shipment number in it & click "Query" button
11. It will show you the history & details of your parcel

the E-Cargo Tracking History

You will only get to see your local delivery tracking number when it reaches the local courier company, who will update the tracking number on this history list. If you do not see it, it means it's not updated yet and you will need to wait.

If you have waited long enough (past the 15 working days for delivery) you are advised by Althea to e-mail in to h elp@althea.kr to report. The help team will investigate and assist you on this matter. You may, to speed up things contact the local courier company directly to inquire on the status of your parcel.

Leave me comments if you need to ask any questions or if I missed out anything here. This version will be updated from time to time.

Black on Track

HTML email (plussizesblog.blogspot.com)
Dress/H&M+ | Demin Jacket/Ashley Stewart | Statement Necklace/Aldo Accessories | Gladiators/Just Fab | Purse/Thrifted
Vacation is over and things are back to normal.  Isn’t it funny how you can hardly wait for something to happen and it comes and is over so quickly?

In any case, today's look is a simple little black dress. I think it’s safe to say that most women have plenty LBDs hi bernating in their closet yet will grab any conceivable chance to buy another one that’s “distinctive” from all the other ones, right? My opportunity was this sporty LBD from H&M.  The plus size selection at my local H&M is usually null and void, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this dress which is light enough for the summer’s heat and under $20. BTW, it’s available online here. With some simple styling which included a statement necklace, knee high gladiators, and a lightweight sleeveless denim jacket, I was en route. I love the simplicity yet chicness of this look. What do you think?

On a side note, am I the only one who has trouble adjusting to life after a vacation? It took me about five days to get acclimated back into my normal routine.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Stay fab
xx

Workout Wednesdays: The FLOTUS Workout

HTML email (plussizesblog.blogspot.com)

If nothing else can motivate you to push yourself and work out, let Michelle Obama push you to your limit. The lovely FLOTUS released two brief clips of her daily workout in May to commemorate the 5th year of her “Let’s Move” Campaign. The brief montages feature tips from the First Lady as well as safety procedures. She also challenges women not to be afraid of lifting heavier weights and to not be afraid of building healthy muscles and of course maintaining those #healthycurves!

#theCURVYcon Recap

HTML email (plussizesblog.blogspot.com)
I remember that once upon a time it was rare to a plus size girl really giving you great fashion, mostly due to the lack of options.  We can call it the dark ages of 14+ fashion, but honey those days are gone.  For me, that was one of the most gratifying parts of theCURVYcon...one room, plus size girls feeling and looking fabulous, and not an apologetic look on anyone's face.  Werk Bish!!! I am just so proud to be apart of this moment, a moment that came alive because so many people supported us as attendees, volunteers, panelists, on social, and just by word of mouth.  What an amazing & humbling thing to have people really root for you. &nb sp;I am so grateful.

I have to admit, theCURVYcon, was probably the hardest thing I had to accomplish in my life to date.  It was like planning a wedding for 500 people and took CeCe and I a year to accomplish, but we did it.  There were so many fabulous moments from Amber Riley, to an impromptu fashion show with Ashley Graham and the ALDA Models, to Nadia Aboulhosn rushing on stage for her panel while a volunteer watched her car (shout out to K.C.), to sitting on a panel with Gabifresh, Ty Alexander, Kierra Sheard, Kellie B, and Rochelle from Beauticurve, women who have style that not only I love, but I have so much respect for them individually and professionally.  Could this be real life?

I said this at theCURVYcon, but a huge thank you to the sponsors & vendors, Monistat Cha fing Gel , Fashion to Figure, Lysse, CushieB, Rebdolls, Full Beauty, Boobalicious, Dia & Co, Eleven60, HookedUp Shapewear and Nakimuli. Such an undertaking like this, especially for the vision we had, is just so expensive and without these brands, we would have not be able to have this fabulous day.  They believed in us our first year, sight unseen.  The volunteer were amazing, Desiree (aka Fancydime) couldn't stop boasting about you guys.

Style Notes:  My dress was by Nicci Hou.  She is a Atlanta based designer who's career I followed since the beginning.  Because of the craziness of my life leading up theCURVYcon, I had no idea what I was wearing.  I just didn't have time to think about it and before I knew it, the date was practically at my doorstep and I had nothing to wear.  I hear a lot about people complaining about there's not enough budget based fashion, but if you are plus and want something fancy, contemporary, with the details that you can only find in the swankiest of department stores that dress almost doesn't exist. Almost.  Nicci Hou totally saved me. The dress was done out of a scuba fabric with beautiful seam detail and although you can see there was a slight dip of the skirt length in the back.  I don't think I've ever owned anything so luxurious.  You can visit the Nicci Hou website here or email her directly for custom orders at niccihou@yahoo.com.   The line is straight sized, but she will do custom projects as she did for me. My flats are from here.  These go up to a size 12, which is the size I got, but were too big.  I am technically an 11, but I was last minute sho pping an d this was all they had. But you'll want to know that the 12 is nice and roomy.

Our fabulous attendees serving it up on a silver platter!

Some my favorite girls:  Sarah Conley, Amanda A llison, & Abra Pappa

Every now and again, I get to be cool enough to hang out with the models LOL  Models: Victoria Lee, Ashley Graham, Julie Henderson

Amber Riley! Eek!

Some of our amazing panelists: Crystal, Chante', & Sarah

Gabifresh + our fabulous attendees at the Meet and Greet

Werk! Werk Werk! theCURVYcon attendee giving me vintage Lisa Loeb gone glam & of course the fabulous Nadia

A Nude Summer in the City

HTML email (plussizesblog.blogspot.com)

I'm still in the mood for nude.

Silk Blazer, c/o Lafayette 148 (straight sizes here, more plus options here) | Similar Tank and Maxi Skirt | Bag, Zara | Shoes, S mash Shoes (similar here)

As much the colorfulness of summer fills my heart and floral prints tickle my fancy, blushy tones and nude palettes still rule my world. I think it's my summer go to answer for all black er'thang because the truth is...all black in 85 degrees with 100% humidity in NYC is a death wish and we are trying to LIVE.

I love mixing high and low. I've paired this gorgeous lightweight silk blazer with an easy maxi I found in the straight size department of my local mass retailer and finished off the look with one of my favorite pair of minimal Chloe sunglasses and metallic silver accents. I ran around, had a bunch of meetings, ended up on an adventure in Brooklyn and stayed fairly cool (that nose dab chile') and ca'ute the whole way through.
If you want more info on my hair, leave a comment below and I'll do a separate post.

HTML email (plussizesblog.blogspot.com)

Natural-women-eating-healthy-foods1

Of course exercise plays an instrumental role in fitness and maintaining an overall healthy body. But, research also shows that 70% of a healthy lifestyle and body is contingent upon your diet. With that being said, I think it’s important to have a healthy fridge to avoid temptations and cravings! Now the common belief is that eating healthy is expensive but most of the items on this list are available in your local supermarket or even a farmer’s market.

Black Fitness Today compiled this list of 10 Must-Have Foods for Your Grocery List that can help you remain in control of your health. So, here they are:

  1. Leafy Greens (Kale, Lettuce, Spinach, Collard Greens): These are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and a number of healthy nutrients like calcium and folic acid, Be cautious not to overcook it as it can lose a lot of its health advantages.
  2. Apples: Research studies have actually revealed that consuming an apple day-to-day reduces the level of bad LDL cholesterol and boosts good HDL cholesterol.
  3. Sweet Potatoes: An excellent source for Vitamin A, B, C, fiber and protein. There are so many great recipes for sweet potatoes like baked potato fries
  4. Oatmeal: Rich in omega 3-fatty acids, potassium and fiber, eating oatmeal promotes lower cholesterol levels and better heart health
  5. Avocado: They are rich in vitamins B, K and E and have high lots of fiber
  6. Wheat Germ: Common in protein shakes and powders, whole wheat bread and baked goods, wheat germ is a great source for Vitamin E, fatty acids and fiber
  7. Broccoli: Just a small cup of broccoli can supply you with enough Vitamin C that your body needs daily
  8. Almonds: Eat a handful of these for a snack to kick out your cravings while feeling guilt-free! Almonds are great for iron, fiber and calcium.
  9. Oily Fish (Salmon, Trout, Shrimp, etc.): Great sources of Vitamin A and D, oily fish wake up your brain, especially before a big presentation at work or an important test
  10. Blueberries: An excellent source of fiber and antioxidants, blueberries also pack lots of polyphenols. These polyphenols can boost your metabolism and assist in fat burning at the exact same time, stopping fat cells from even forming

Misty Copeland Named American Ballet Theater’s First Black Female Principal Dancer

HTML email (plussizesblog.blogspot.com)

mc

Showstopper and renowned ballerina Misty Copeland is continually making history! On Tuesday, Copeland was named the first female Black principal dancer of the prestigious American Ballerina Theatre.

This comes less than a week after Misty’s stunning performance as a lead in Swan Lake. She delivered a short speech during the official announcement which happened during a rehearsal. Overcome with emotion she remarked, “I never ever dreamed of being a principal dancer, that’s just not something I ever envisioned as a black woman. It’s just really a humbling moment for me and for ballet.”

Copeland, 32, has become an icon of perseverance and empowerment, speaking and writing openly about race in America and embracing her role as a positive example for underprivileged youth. She was the subject of Bill Whitaker’s “60 Minutes” feature this May, was on the cover of Time as one of the most influential people of 2015, and is the co-author of two books including the autobiography “Life In Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina,” and a children’s book called “Firebird,” both released in 2014.

I salute Misty and know that she is far from finished! Be sure to support her Cinderella at the American Ballet Theatre in July. For ticket information, click here.
