Sweatpants with heels

To prawdopodobnie najwygodniejsze spodnie jakie kiedykolwiek miałam!

I was very surprised while reading the comments under my previous post. To say the truth I wasn't expecting that the style mix would be so liked. I think I have to work on my style a little to make it more unexpected :) When I saw the sweatpants I am wearing, the first thought was, how cool it would be to have them for home. I hate wearing my usual clothes being at home, I can't concentrate on anything until I change. When the pants arrived I immediately knew what a waste it would be wearing them only inside. I don't regret this decision because they are probably the most comfortable pants I've ever worn.
The jacket is from the same fabric the pants are, what makes the outfit to the most comfortable in the world :) The top was already shown on the blog, it was love at t he first sight, its décolletage has potential and I bought two of them, what I have never regret. Because the pants are grey and the element on the jacket are silver I decided to keep the rest of the jewellery in that shade. Maybe except the rings, but you have a wedding ring and other souvenirs only in one colour ;)

#Random Pics II

HTML email (plussizesblog.blogspot.com)Be as SIMPLE as you can be; you will be astonished to see how uncomplicated and HAPPY your life can be become ~ Paramahansa Yogananda

It's that time of the month again, my #Random post.  In case you missed it, back in June, I started a new monthly blogging series to capture life outside of Pumps & Studz. You can catch up to June’s random post here.

Last month, I came across a BBC show called Livi ng with the Amish. It chronicled the experiences of five British teens who adopted an Amish lifestyle.  For little over a month, they lived with five different Amish families, learning about and adopting their lifestyle. Although they did not agree with some of the rules of Amish living, overwhelmingly they all embraced the simplicity of the lifestyle. The show affected me the same way and with so much going on in the world lately, much of my July was spent getting rid of the commotion (when I could), and taking in the excellence of things around me.

Here's what you are looking at:
Enjoying the day at Daytona Beach in Florida| Chocolate Godiva Ice Cream (need I say more?!) | Weekend Reading | Flowers From the Garden | Kale, Beet, L entil, & Sweet Potatoe Salad for meatless Mondays | My Home away for Home for a few days|

See ya soon but Stay Fab in the meantime!

Conference Alert! Save the Date for the Fat Activism Conference

HTML email (plussizesblog.blogspot.com)

Hey girl! Hope you’ve been great. I just wanted to check in with you to make sure you knew about a major body positivity/inclusivity conference that is coming up (because you know I am all about loving your body).  It’s called the Fat Activism Conference. Haven’t heard of it? Well let me give you the lowdown real quick.

Fat Activism Conference

Founded by Ragen Chastain, the lady behind Dances with Fat and Jeanette DePatie of The Fat Chick in 2014, this conference is designed to address issues like size discrimination, plus size fashion (and men too!), fitness, the various forms of fat activism, the roles that race and sexuality play in the movement, and so much more! Open to people of all sizes, it seeks to tear down barriers so that we can have genuine conversations about how to put an end to the discrimination, shame, stigma, bullying, and oppression that is perpetuated on a daily basis as it pertains to our size and weight.

So on October 9-11, 2015,  over 25 speakers from all backgrounds and walks of life, will bring you a diverse array of perspectives on legitimate issues within the plus size community and beyond! You must check out the schedule there are some really amazing keynotes and panels!

Here is a sampling of their speakers!!!

Fat Activism Conference

The cool part? You don’t have to worry about making any last-minute flight arrangements or booking a hotel because you can attend the conference right from the comfort of your own home. You read that right! It will be a completely virtual conference. All you have to do to participate is tune in on your computer or your phone.

The organizers want for everyone who is interested to be able to attend the conference, so they offer a few price options – including a pay-what-you-can-afford option for those who may not have much to spend OR want to pay more than the highest price option.

So, does this sound like something you are interested in attending?

If so, check out fatactivismconference.com for more details!

Be sure to register soon for the early bird rate because it will increase on September 15th.

The Apology I Owe You for a Summer Off the Grid

HTML email (plussizesblog.blogspot.com)
Dear Amazing Blog Readers!

At some point in time, you made the decision to let me into your lives. You followed my blog, liked my social media pages and clicked my links. For that, I am so incredibly grateful. You have come to me because I keep it real. I say the things that need to be say. I share hard stuff so that we, as whole, can all grow together to become better versions of ourselves. But at some point in time, I let you down.
I let you down because I allowed my own personal analysis-paralysis, my own challenges, to keep me from talking to you.
I let you down because I allowed my own personal analysis-paralysis, my own challenges, to keep me from talking to you. It kept me from posting, from taking pics, from communicating. And for that, I am truly sorry. Because if I was truly being real, I would allow you all to see t he thing s I struggle with in their unformed glory. I would share the process without waiting for the illuminated lesson at the end of the tunnel. I would allow you to come along for the ride. To learn as I learn.
When I really think about the people that inspire me, it isn’t their contrived gloss and highly-lacquered finish that draws me to them. Instead, it’s their ability to speak with clarity even when their voice is shaking on the inside. To be authentic and open, even in the eyes of uncertainty. To plod forward in the dark with only a nightlight to guide.

So here it is, my promise to you; the good, the bad and the ugly.
1 )     I will let you see my journey.
2)     I will post more.
3)  No matter what, I will be unfailingly focused on learning from life, and remaining open to goodness and abundance.

In doing all of this, it is my unyielding goal to help you become better versions of yourselves. In turn, I’m going to pursue my passion s in the hopes of finding my OWN way to the best version of me I can find.
In doing all of this, it is my unyielding goal to help you become better versions of yourselves. In turn, I’m going to pursue my passions in the hopes of finding my OWN way to the best version of me I can find.
As many of you have noted to me in messages, my blog has been pretty quiet the last few months. Why? Major career-happenings and, not one but, two parents dealing with life-threatening surgeries left me chugging on empty with everything I had focused on getting by, showing them love and keeping my eyes on the prize and moving forward. I spent three months in New York City with my mom

In my incomplete state, I felt like I had nothing to give to you. B ecause I wasn’t perfect, because I didn’t have all “my answers” I kept quiet. Which…. Is really silly. In hindsight, sharing my process probably would have been much better for you [all] and me.
So. All that being said, here’s the deal.

I am moving BACK to LA from San Francisco by the end of October. I am so looking forward to being around friends and the community I grew to love! My parents, both mother and father, are doing fantastic!  After three months I’ve had a ton of time to reflect and refocus. I am 100% ready for every adventure, every challenge, every new thing and every leap that is laying before me! Bring it, world, I’m ready!

And so I thank you. I thank you for your patience with me and your continued support, energy and time. I appreciate each one of  you for your Facebook comments to your Instagram likes. Thank YOU!

There is more fun. More fashion. More journey. More body positivity and more stories of confidence to come! Plus, an updated website relaunching soon.

If you have questions for me, or just feel like saying hello, please chime in below in the comments!! I would love to hear from you.
Graciously yours,
Sarah

Vijat Mohindra

Fierce pic via Artmix

Go deep into the heart of Young Hollywood and you will find VijatM as one of the most sought after photographers on the scene. His work alone garners him worthy of a Star on the Hollywood walk of fame.  He is known for his beautifully made Celebrity portraits  and amazing editorial work. His work has been described as Neo-Pop and Hyper-Modern. He is breaking barriers with his photo’s of Plus-size women and Transgender people such as Sharon Gualt and Amazon Ashley. This bad boy is Bff’s with Miley Cyrus and is certainly a force to be reckoned with. He should come with a Caution sign, because he will  suck you into his world with his boyish charm and mad skillz. ~xo Sugar

I’m so so so excited to share with you one of my dear talented  friends VijatM’s photographic works of Art. Vijat took time out of his crazy hectic schedule to talk on the phone, the first thing he said to me was “Thank you so much for doing this for me”, as sweet and sincere as you could imagine.  It was a fun chat like talking to your bff  you haven’t seen in forever, but when you do see each-other it’s like no time has passed at all.  Here are the questions Vijat answered for us ladies at The Curvy Fashionista!

We started with a cute Q&A of Vijat’s Favorite’s and Stats in the collage below

all about vijat collage

Interview:

What inspired you to become a photographer?

“I fell in love with photography when I was really really young. I have always had an appreciation for Art. When I was young my Mom did a series of “Black and White” photographs, I was so in love with them, they inspired me to play with a camera, pick it up experiment. My mom saw that I took an interest to the Camera and she got me my very own Camera. From the first flash I loved shooting, I would shoot everything and anyone: cousins, sisters, friends etc.
So yeah i got started really young. When I went to Art Center College of Design, that is when I started thinking ok what Am I going to do with my life? What type of Career do I want for myself? This is when I really started focusing and that became my path and now career.”

“I have 3 who have been a major influence:

  • David La Chapelle-“With David La Chapelle, I have looked up to him since I was  young.  I just love the little worlds he creates, these real believable characters with his photography. Of course, he has photographed every famous Celeb ever.”

  • Mert and Marcus

  • Miles Aldridge

I love on location shoots for the natural lighting.”

Love Mag Art xo Sugar

As an experienced photographer, do you have any advice for Plus size women going to their first photo shoot?

 3 tips for new models

  1. Practice in heels. It’s common practice to elongate a woman’s leg in Cinema and Art. Usually wearing a platform or stiletto, be prepared.
  2. Know your angle and work with the photographer to showcase your best self.
  3. Do not be insecure, we are shooting you because we love you.. no other reason.
“If your getting paid it’s because something about the job makes you want to model.
Don’t give me insecure, your there as a model who is putting yourself in the spotlight.                    You are there basically saying exploit me for business..exploit my looks to make money and remember to be your best, learn from the greats like Sharon Gault.”

What have you been up to? Do you have any cool new projects for us too look at ?
“The Other Pictures is my New Project: it’s using an on camera flash, which is a paparazzi flash. What I’m doing is capturing every day items, and elevating the everyday item to celebrity status turning it into Pop Culture.”

Thanks so so so  much to VijatM for the Interview!! ~Xo Sugar
